"To musically take the listener by the hand to the foot of the cross and see the Savior."

This has been the philosophy for the Music Ministry for the past 11 years and will be as long as the Lord gives us breath to serve Him with singing.  We have been so busy and continue to find new and exciting ways to express the inexpressible with old favorites with new and fresh treatments to bring them into the current realm of our living.

It is convenient to go the way of the "popular" but, that is not always "proper in the House of the Lord.  We strive to include every form of music that we have at our disposal including; praise, hymns, Gospel, jazz-blues arrangements (where useful), and we never compromise on the Scriptural truth of the work.  We lift!  Not divide.

We include. We leave no worshipper behind...

We have a Sanctuary choir that is the main voice for all we do here at Calvary.Week in and out, 52 weeks a year they serve the Lord faithfully, gladly, and joyfully. They are responsible for 3 major concerts a year; Easter, Patriotic, and Christmas. All of which have become a great tradition of the church and the Northeast of Philadelphia.  We are blessed by the various ages, people, and voices that give Glory to the Lord, and keep the music fresh and alive.

We also have in our ministry a singing men's group, "The HYMNZ!" that has become, over the past 10 years the Ambassador of goodwill to the neighborhood, and the world.  They recently returned from a concert tour in Madras (Chennai) India, where they were received by thousands, and will be returning in 2006, to the Hindustan Bible Institute of India, where they presented the Gospel in song to a Missionary Conference to Pastor's from all over India.  They are always available for any group for music at any occasion.

In short, the one driving motivation behind ALL we do in the Music Ministry is to always keep in mind:

"It's not about us…..it's ALL About Jesus!"
